Our annual Wave Festival is taking place on July 13th 2024 at Tournaberry Golf Course, Hayling Island so please save the date. We have run the event for the last three years to provide a great day out for families with lots to do and all money raised going to the Wave Charity or other community charities.  Get your tickets here from EventBrite.

With just a few weeks to go - don't forget to buy your tickets and join us. The event opens at 10:00 AM with music starting from 11:00am. It will be a fun filled  day with live music,  the storyteller,  face painting, bubble witch, toddler area with bouncy castle and space hopper raceway, pedal go-karts (adult and child), Whitley Bear, Boogie Mites and crazy golf.  With so many fun activities, there's something for everyone to enjoy.

 

Our lineup and stage times for the bands are:-

11:00 am   The Wave band

 

12:00 pm  Tasmin Escott - from Starstruck where she performed as Adele

​

1:00 pm  The Hedgehogs.  Southampton-based male vocal-led rock band with music from across the decades. Find out more

2:00 pm Electric Eden. Three-piece contemporary English folk band from Hampshire, producing a very earthy traditional sound with a modern approach to folk songwriting. Find out more

3:00 pm  Timeless. Always popular and fun. Three girl vocal group performing songs from across the 40/s to the noughties. Cat Deeley described them as “Three girls with insane voices” on SkyOnes Ultimate A Cappella. Find out more     

 

4:00 pm The Henrys. Acoustic duo with a big taste for vocal and harmonies and the 60’s  Find out more

5:00 pm The Spoils. A Hampshire-based 7-piece Party Band playing hits from the 60's to the present day. Find out more

6:00 pm St Lundi. Local Hayling Island singer who tours across the UK and Europe with recognition of his talent from the likes of Zoe Ball and Scott Mills. His songs reflect love, family and life experience.  Find out more

7:00 pm  Blessed.  Matt "Blessed" Stevens is a rapper from Portsmouth. As Blessed, he has performed at The Royal Albert Hall, has done a Fire in the Booth with Charlie Sloth on BBC Radio 1 & 1Xtra and opened up for Akala and Lowkey, as well as being nominated for a Youth Music Award as a Freestyle battle rap champion  Find out more

Wave Charity

Wave is a registered charity (Charity number: 1190803) that provides support for young people on Hayling Island.

​

We have been up and running in the Wave building (the old TSB building 23-25 Elm Grove) since Sept 2022 and the reception has been great. Apologize if you have been turned away because we are full on occasions.  We are offering general sessions twice a week with each session having a specific activity planned.  


We run during term times with sessions on 

Monday from 3:30pm to 5:30pm - Motiv8 providing health and wellbeing support (funded by Wave). Please see the Motiv8 website for details about them and the Motiv8 Facebook page for further details.  

Tuesday from 3:30pm to 5:30pm for 10 to 13 year olds

Wednesday from 4:00pm to 6:00pm - free use (for 10-17 year olds) of our new recording studio (see picture here) including instruments and recording equipment 

Thursday from 3:30pm to 5:30pm for 10 to 13 year olds

Thursday from 4:30pm to 7:30pm for 14-16 year olds

We have an area for you to meet and chat with friends, a full size slate pool table, a football table, computers, XBox, Nintendo WII, a classic table arcade machine with multiple games such as Pacman and Space Invaders, an art room, lots of board games, music and an area to watch films. All activities (including hot food) are free.
